HAPPY (Healthy Alternative Program for Preschoolers & Youth): A head start program for preschool aged children where learning is viewed as a positive experience of inquiry and discovery, both indoors and out. Happy is one of ULYP’s longest running program, offered since inception. It targets underprivileged pre-school children, where they learn basic math, English, reading, art, music and IT. Throughout these activities, children are taught ULYP’s core values – understanding, respect and acceptance of others.
The HAPPY program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, where children are in the drivers seat of their education and the teachers are facilitators for their education. The program gives the children a positive experience of enquiry and discovery and stimulates a love of learning. HAPPY is held multiple times per year.
HAPPY is part of the Support Early Childhood Education Development Program, in partnership with UNICEF and Taawon- Lebanon.
